Welcome to the second issue of In the Mist, an outdoor magazine for and by women. We hope you find some of the adventure you seek as you river raft, geyser gaze, and zip-line with the writers found in our revamped Read section. As Nietzsche says, "We do not belong to those who only get their thoughts from books, or at the prompting of books,--it is our custom to think in the open air, walking, leaping, climbing, or dancing on lonesome mountains by preference, or close to the sea, where even the paths become thoughtful." Call for Submissions: In the Mist wants your work. Send us travel stories, prose, poetry, photography, and artwork about what you do outside. We are interested in anything from mountaing biking Moab's slick rock to walking with your friends through central park to relaxing by a lake watching the clouds. We take submissions year round.
